J. Joyner fo~ time <br />lost amounting to ~5 d~ys @ $~.15 per day, total $103.75; on account of injuries received while. <br />in ~he discharge o~ hiS dnty. <br /> It ie recommended that Mm. Joyner be paid for the 25 days lost, out of appropriation <br />in the Budget for Police Department, Salaries. <br /> <br /> Recommendation of the Manger tha~ Council refund R. G~.L~zssiter, paving co~traotor, for <br />20 cars at $15.75 each, or a total of $315J00, on aOcoun~ ,e~ licenses paid for various vehicles <br />opem~ting in Portsmouth. <br /> It is recommended ~h~t a special approprimtion of $315.00 be allowed to make the said <br />refund. <br /> <br /> Recommendation of the Manager to grant request of the Commission on Roads & Bridges of <br />NorfolE County for an additionml payment by the City of $22,000.00 on the West Norfolk Bridge. <br />This exceeds the appropriation made by the Council for the Bridge and an additional appropriation <br />to cover the same is msked for. <br /> ~ Progress as to same. <br /> <br /> Recommendation of the M~nager that an appropriation of $~4.~0 ~e m~de from the Eighth Ward <br />funds and $~8.00 from City funds, for providing shades for the Police andFire'Station at Port <br />Norfolk. It is recommended th~ta special appropriation of $~.80 be allowed from 8th Ward & ' <br />funds and $28.00 from City funds, for the purchase of said~sh~des, sp.a~ <br /> Request of the Commissioner of Revenue that W. E. Womack be refunded $6.65 paid in error <br />for cook shop license. <br /> It is recommended that a specis~l appropriation of $6.65 be allowed to m~ke said re- $~.~ <br />fund. sp.a~ <br /> <br /> Request of R. E. Shes, $100.00. <br /> <br /> Referred Febru~y <br /> Communicatxon from the Man, get stating that some time du~ing the Year 1919, a charge of <br />$3,000~00 was made for fire hose against the Eighth Ward and a similar charge of $1,000. against <br />the Ninth ~a~. It is the opinion of the Manager that~these charges were erroneous and he <br />oo~ends that the amount of $3,000.00 be re-t~ausferred to the credit of the Eighth Ward and <br />$1,ooo.oo tothe credit of the Ninth Ward. <br /> It is recommended that ~ special appropriation of $~,000.00 be allowed ~o make said <br />refunds, $3~000.O0 to the Eighth Ward and $1,000.00 to the Ninth ~ard. sp.ap] <br /> <br />(Signed) L.G.
