It ms recommended that $21,~25.00 be allocated for curos ana gmtters roadway on West Pa~k View streets, and that $6,000.00 be allocated for an 18 ft. macadam roadwaT on Ohestnut street, from SOuth to Duke. It is fumther recommended that the Treasurer be authorized to pay bill of S. T. Non, ague, Jr., Sta~e Game Warden, to ~mount cf $82*50, for services rendered in destroying 33 ta~less dogs $ $2.50 each, out of f~ds on ~d from collection of Dog Taxes. (Signed) L. G. "! am forwarding herewith copy of ~a lette~ from the Quartermaster General's oTfice suggesting that the United States and the Oity of ~Portsmout~.attempt to'make an amicable settlement of the contract be- tween the United States and the Oity covering additions to the Oity Water Plamt made by the Federal Government. The letter suggests that th e effort shall be made without prejudice %o either .party .a~d that the information Obtained in the preparation of this tentative ~egotiatiom ms not to bind ~eithe= pa:ty in the event of failure to effect the co.mprcmise which will meet with the approval of the Secreta:y of War an~ the Oity Oou~cil of~o~tmmouth.
