The following ordinance, which had been placed on its first readir~ Jmly 8th, was taken up and read: AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE POSTING OF HAND BILLS OR OTHER ADVERTISINGLITERATURE ON POLES OR IN VEHICLES AND FORBIDDING THE INDEFINITE PARRINg, OF VEHiCLE~ FOR ADVERTISING PU~OSES ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF PORTSEOUTH~ ~M. 0ast moved that Section I be amended to read as follows: ~First, that it shall be unlawful to post handbills or other advertising literat~e on any tree, t~lephone, ~elegre~h, power or lighting ~ole~- in the City of Portsmouth."
