BondFund, as per his recommendation, for said maine. <br /> Recommendation cf the w~nager that a special ap~opriation of $1,070.00 be allowed for <br /> operation of the Msmket: Salemies, $340.00; Labor, $80~00; Coal, $150.$O; Power, $400.00; <br /> Water, $50.00; Light, $50.00. <br />$730. It is recommended that an appropriation of $730.00 be allowed for Markets for the <br />spec. balance of the fiscal year, to be distributed as follows: Labor, $~0.00; Goal, $150.00; Power <br /> & Lights, $450.00, Water, $50.OO., <br /> <br /> Petition of the Industrial and Industrial Finance Commissions of the Norfolk-Portsmouth <br /> Chamber of Commerce that the City appropriate $2,500.00 per year for three yea~s, to be used <br /> exclusively for the work of the Industrial Bureau of the Norfolk-Portsmouth 0bomber of Com- <br /> merce a~d to be available each year only when the Industrial 0ommission shall certify to the <br /> Oity that $20,000.00 additional has been subscribed by other persons and ~gencies for the work <br /> of the Bureau dnring that year; same also being endorsed by the Portsmouth Chamber of 0omme=ce. <br />~416. ~e recommend an appropriation of $415.00 for this purpose for the balance of this <br />~pec. fiscal year, and that the appropriation of $2,500,00 per yea~ for three years be considered <br /> in the Budget as prepared for each Year, and that al!~npropriations made to the Industrial <br /> a~d Ludustrial Finance Commissions of the Norfolk-Portsmouth 0hamber of Commerce be p~id i~ <br /> monthly instalments amd only after complete monthly proportion of $22,500,O0 additional that <br /> has been subscribed by other persons and agencies shell h~ve been actually paid in, as shown <br /> by statement from s~id 0ommission. <br /> <br /> Oommanic~tion from the Oity Auditor asking that he be granted authority to cancel Oity <br />Warrants amomntimg to $220.25, same having been outstauding from l~16 to December 31, 1923; <br />and to notify the Banks not to pay a~y warrant presented to them dated prior to ~uary let, <br />192~. Also recommending tha~ Go,moil pass a resolution making Oity Warrants g~od for only <br />six months from date. <br /> It is recommended that $220.25 outstanding warrants to December 31, 1923, be can- <br />celled, smd that the several Bsnks of the City be motified not to p~y any warrant presented <br />to them dated prior to January let, 1~24; and it is recommended that the following attached <br />ordinance be adopted: <br /> <br />A~ Ordinance to Amend and Re-ordain Section 148 of the City Oode. <br /> <br />Reports of the Oity Oollector and Oity Clerk & Auditor for the month of September, 1924. <br /> We have examined said reports and it is recommended t~t they be filed. <br /> <br /> Oommm~lcation from the School Board, calling attention to their commur~cation of February <br />12th, 1924, requesting an additional appropriation of approximately $~,500.00, or p~rmiesion <br />to carry this amount over to 1925. Also re~aeeting an a~ditional appropriatiou of $~,500.00, <br />or as much thereof as may ~e necessary, to cover the expenses of the Schools through December, <br />192~; or to grant permission to the Board to ca~ry this amount over to the Year 1925. <br /> Progress. <br /> <br /> Oommunication from the School Board requesting that bill of Contractor Jo~n W.
