162 <br /> <br />June 13, 1995 <br /> <br /> Given the immediate positive impact that this grant will <br />have upon the activities of the Police Department, I recommend <br />the transfer of $21,247 from the Grants Contingency Account. <br />This ~unount includes the local match for this grant of $5,312 <br />(25%)." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to <br />transfer $21,247 to acquire and upgrade equipment utilized by <br />the Crime Analysis and Intelligence Unit, and was adopted by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, HaWks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />95-291 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a motion to transfer $15,000 from the Grants Contingency <br />Account to conduct sobriety checkpoints. <br /> <br /> "The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has awarded the <br />City of Portsmouth $15,000 for the Police Department to conduct <br />sobriety checkpoints. There is no local cash match required. <br />An in-kind contribution will come from items already budgeted <br />as part of regular police operations. The funds will be <br />reimbursed as expenses occur.
