<br />the erection of horse troughs at Lincoln and South Sts., Broad.St~ near the POliCe Statism
<br />a~nd the north end. of Elm Ave., each of these fountains costing $160.O0 for installationjand
<br />$1.00 per month thereafter. Also mtating that he,is unwilling at this time to make recom-
<br />mendations for any avoidable special appropriations and recommending that he be authorized
<br />to tell Mrs. Hope that these .tro~ughs will be provided for, if practicable, in the next year's
<br />budget.
<br /> We report that this matter will be considered in the 1926 Budget..

<br /> Recommendation of the Nanager that a special appropriation of $2~3.00 be allowed for a

<br /> It is recommended that a ~mpeoial appropriation of $233.00 be allowed for a police
<br />telephone for Truxtun.

<br /> Recommendation of the Manager that an appropriation of $952.00 be made for an ~uud~groumd
<br />~300 volt cable from the southeast corner of the Park to the Keeper's house and a pol~;line
<br />from the comfort s+~tion on the west side of the park to the golf house.
<br /> It is recommended tha~ a special appropriation o'f $~52.00 be allowed for said put-
<br />poss.

<br /> Recommendation of the Manager that a special appropriation of $75.00 be allowed for in-
<br />stallation of a fire alarm box nes~r the property of the Southe~AB~ass Works, the G~mps~y of-_
<br />feting to purchase the box costing $150.00 provided the Oity will bear the cost of the instal
<br />lation.
<br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation cf $?5.00 be allowed for the instal-
<br />lation of said fire alarm box.

<br /> Recommendation of the Manager that he be authorized to go into arbitration on the claim
<br />of Dmke & Smith against ~he City for bonus amd damage caused by overflowing of storm sewer
<br />s~ud claim of the City for defective work~stxip, in ccrmeotion with thm ~eotion of the 0ity
<br />Narket.
<br /> It is recommended that the recommendation of the Manager be con~rred in,

<br /> Resolution relative to the proposed lease of the Virginian P~ilroad te the Norfolk & Western,
<br /> Progress as to same.
<br />$~58~'54 it is further recommended that an appropriation of $8,581.54 be allowed from the
<br />spec~ School Bond Fund to pay bills due on the New School Bmilding.

<br /> It is further recommended that the Treasurer be authorized to pay, out of l~-nds on
<br /> hand from collection of Dog Taxes, bill of J. Shirley Hope, State Game Ws~rden, to amomnt o~
<br /> $182.50, for destroying 73 tagless $ogs $ $2.50 each.

<br />The Fi~.~ce Oommittee recommended alao adoption of the following:

<br /> "It is rec~mmended that the Oity 0ollector be and he is hereby instructed to prepare a
<br />list of all 1925 Real Estate Taxes unpaid amd submit the same to the City 0ouncil for its
<br />approval. Upon the said approval by the Oily 0ouncil, the Oity O~llector is hereby authorized
<br />~ndinst~cted to advertise aud sell the samd Real Estate for 1925 Delinquent Taxes.
<br />
<br /> It is further recommend~ that the City Collector be authorized and instructed to e.m~.loy
<br />the High Oonstable to collect by law the t925 and prior Personal Property Ts~xes unpaid,, wmth
<br />penalty and interest, amd that the High O~ustable be allowed lO~ on the Taxes and Interest
<br />so collected as his 0ommission; the High ¢onst~ole to make daily reports to the 0ity Oolleotor
<br />cf his coltections~ and the City Oollector to make a separate report o~ such collections to
<br />the Ootuuoil ~t its first regular meeting in each month for the preceding month."
