Gentlemen:-
- The School Board at its meeting on Friday night, May 1, a~opted the report of the
Buli~ings and Equipment Committee with re~erence to sea, ring at this time t~o and one-half
lots adjoining the Ann Street School. The report was as follows:

"You= Committee on Buildings and Equipment begs to report, with reference
to the advisability of acquiring the property of S. E. Small adjoining
the Ann Street School property, that, since sooner or later itwill
be n~cessary to pro~ide additional school ~uildimgs in Park View; and
since the logical Place for this addition would be at the Ann Street
School; and since this property in question ~ould be absolutely neces-
sarywhen the addition is made; and since the owner states that he is
planning to build on the vacant lot, which would greatly add to its cost
at a later date; in View of these considerations, your Oommittee strongly
recommends that this property be acquired at a reasonable figure, if
appropriation for same can be secured. While we have no recommendation
as te price, ~et we feel the price asked, $6,000.00, is excessive.

The Board does not feel that.it oan prooeed further in this matter until it
has been authorized by your body to proceed.--

Respectfully submitted,

H. A. HUNT, Supt. of Schools. For the School Board.#
