February 23, 1~26 <br /> <br /> Mr. Maupin extended an invitation for Mr. Cless, that Oo~ncil attend a meeting of the <br />Rotary Olub Thursday, February 25~th, ? ~. m., at ~onumental M.E. Ohurch. <br /> On~ motion of Mr. Stew~rt (R.E.B..~, the invitation was accepted with the.~ks. <br /> On motion,~;the .privilege of the floor was granted to ~ttorney 'W. H. Oast, who asked that <br /> the Council re-affirm its action on January 8, 1~2~, ~n adopting resolution granting permission <br /> to put a gasoline filling station on Court street next to the corner of Wythe St. <br /> On motion of Mr. Smith, the action was re-affirmed, Mr. Oast being excused from voting <br /> and Mr. Maupin voting No. <br /> <br /> On motion, adjourned. <br /> <br />appr~. <br /> <br />appro. <br /> <br />March <br /> <br />At a regular.meeting of the <br /> Messrs~ Vernon <br /> <br /> Also <br /> <br />Oity 0ounoil March 9th there were present:_ <br /> <br /> E;W. Stewart, R.E.B..Stewart, <br /> White, 7. <br /> the 0ity Manager. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the special meeting February 23rd were read and were approved. <br /> REPORTS OF 00MMXTTEES <br />~Inance-- Referred Feb~a~ry 23rd <br /> <br /> Ccmmur~ication from the City Manager stating that the present Water Deps~rtment office is <br />rented on a year to year basis and it is necessary for either party to the l~ase to give three <br />months notice in advance prior t~ ~at~lst~ , lC26~ , and that the ~upt. of the Water~ Department <br />must therefore know definitely a ~few-days before April 1st, 1926, whether the Water Department <br />office is to remain in its present location. <br /> Progress as to same. <br /> Recommendation of the M~nager that five new lamps be authorized for 1926, the aunu~l cost <br />of same being $240.00. <br /> It is recommended that ~ special appropriation of $1~0.00 ~e allowed for five new <br /> la~ps. <br /> Recommendation of the Manager that he he allowed to purchase an acteylene welding an~i out- <br /> tine outfit, from the ~nd appropriated for repairs to apparatus, at an estimated cos~ of <br /> It is recommended that the Manager be authorized to use $~4.26, from the fund mp- <br />propriated for repairs to apparatus, for ~urchase of an a~teylene w~iding~and cuttin~ Outfit~ <br /> Report, forwarded by the Ns~ager, from the Retirement Board and of the Oity Physician <br /> in the case of 0apt.
