Oast, for putting in 133 ~Iin. ft. of sidewalk <br />on Webster and Naval Aves., from v~rious residents on Gosport Road for puttin.g in ~oproxim~tely <br />1,CO0 ft. of sidews~lks on that rossi and from messrs. Sykes ~ud Wilder for laymng .1, 5~3 sq. yds. <br />of sidewalks and 3,1~0 lmn. f~.. of c~ros.~ud gut,e~s o~ A, Ann ~nd B str ets, mn W st P rk <br />View. <br /> The residents on Gosport Road are willing to ~rnish the m~terial for the sidewalks <br />o~ that street. P~essrs. Sykes a~d Wilder and Dr. Cast offer to pay one-half the cost. of the <br />sidewalks rec~ested by them a~d Messrs. Sykes and Wilder, in addition offer to pay one-half the <br />cost of the curbs and gutters ~sked by them. <br /> <br /> In addition, I h~ve a request from the West Park Vie~ Gmrden 01ub for placing about <br />1,400 ft. of curb ~ud gutters in West'Park View. ~ <br /> <br /> I can h~nd-le smelt jobs of sidewalk with our repair gang, but it will be impossible <br />to do this with the large amount asked for. I am therefore compelled to again call the Council,s <br />attention to my~revio~ reoommendmtions as to Sidewalks; n~mely, that the entire cos~ thereof <br />be borne in fu~re by property owners. <br /> <br /> The curbs ~ud gutters asked for will cost some $10,500.g~. ~ile both projects <br />are worthy, we h~ve no funds available for the work ~t present and my only recommendation can be <br />that the projects be deferred for consideration whenever a new paving program is taken up." <br /> <br />On motion, the com~nunioation was referred to the Finance 0error&tree. <br /> <br /> 5th. "I have a recommendation from the Ninth Ward 0ivio Lea~e that c~rbs and ~tte~s <br />be plmced on 0hestnut st. from the George Washington Highway to the Gosport Road ~d that a <br />sidewalk be l~id on the east side of ~hestnut St. from the Highway to OentreAve. The cost <br />of this work will be $1,800. provided the curbing is included Lu ~ !~rge contract. If it is <br />not included in a large contract, the cos$ will be $2,200.00.
