t!86 July 10, ~ July 10, 1995 At a Called Meeting of the City 'Council held on Monday, 1995, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett,~ Jrt, C, W. McCoy, Deputy City Manager tn Charge,~George Mi Willson, Acting City Attorney. 95-321 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m,, Monday, July 10, 1995, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion, to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 95-323 - The following items were discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Classification and Pay Plan 2. Elected School Board Update Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: to go (1) Consideration of the use or disposition of publicly held real property in the ChUrchland and Port Norfolk sections of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A)(3); (2) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff concerning a lease and a matter of actual litigation (Adelman, et. al., vs City of Portsmouth), as permitted under Subsection (A) (7); (3) Consideration of appointments to boards and commissions and of personnel matter involving Council appointees, as permitted under Subsection (A)(1). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive S~ssion of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
