t!86 <br /> <br />July 10, <br /> <br /> ~ July 10, 1995 <br />At a Called Meeting of the City 'Council held on Monday, <br /> 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, James T. Martin, <br />Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett,~ Jrt, C, W. McCoy, Deputy <br />City Manager tn Charge,~George Mi Willson, Acting City <br />Attorney. <br /> <br />95-321 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m,, Monday, July 10, 1995, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion, to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />95-323 - The following items were discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Classification and Pay Plan <br />2. Elected School Board Update <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br />to go <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of the use or disposition of publicly <br />held real property in the ChUrchland and Port Norfolk sections <br />of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A)(3); <br /> <br /> (2) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />concerning a lease and a matter of actual litigation (Adelman, <br />et. al., vs City of Portsmouth), as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (7); <br /> <br /> (3) Consideration of appointments to boards and <br />commissions and of personnel matter involving Council <br />appointees, as permitted under Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive S~ssion of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED - ;~l <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />~P~owell pittman, CMC/AAE <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br />*Councilman P.
