<br />on ~his m~tter. ~Mm. C. H. Rowe spoke in favor of the petition to restore the bus line~'over the
<br />former r~ute on Washington s~reet, south of High street.
<br /> Mr. White moved that the recommendation of the M~nager be concurred in. The motion was

<br /> Mr. Parker, B~ilding InspeCtor, informs me that the signatures of all the property
<br />owners, within a radius of 200 ft. of the proposed site, have been secured giving theSr assen~~
<br />to the erection of the smote, and that Mr. Sallinger h~s comqo~lied with all requirements of the
<br />Building Ordi~nce.

<br /> Mm. Mayo moved that the recommendation of the Manager be concurred in. Mr. Stewart
<br />moved that the matter be laid on the table. The motion of Nr. Stewart was adopted.

<br /> 5th. "! herewith submit to you an ordinance regulating tax4-cab service in the 0ity of
<br />Portsmouth. I believe the citizens of Portsmouth are entitled to first-class metered cab
<br />service, as ~urnished in other cities throughout the country. The ordinance has been gone
<br />over o~refu±ly by the 0ity Attorney ~and I believe as now draWn ii sufficiently proteets the
<br />public.~,

<br /> An Ordinance to Amend and Re-ordain ~n Ordinance, Entitled, "An Ordinance Authorizing
<br />the Use of Taxicabs in the City of Portsmouth, Regulating their Use, and Prescribing P~tes of
<br />Y~re ,and Imposing Penalties for the Violation of this Ordinance," adopted by the Oouncil of
<br />the City of Portsmouth on July 13, 1~26."

<br />erecting a new gas tank owned by this company and consZituting a part of its. plant at the-time

<br /> The Gas Oompskuy makes this request in order that it may erect a new gas t~nk on
<br />land which constituted a p~rt of its'~plant when the ordinance w~s enacted, mhd is the portion
<br />of the plant on which there are tWo storage holders now located. Our desire at'this time is
<br />to erect a holder on this plot of ground, m~king th=ee holders by the addition of the new-one
