J. Sall~ger desires to erect a store. I find the adjoining property <br />owner and all the owners of the property within a radius of two hundred feet of said site have <br />consented to the erection of said building~ <br /> <br />Yours very truly~ <br /> <br />R. The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> The following ordinance, which had been placed on first reading by 0ouncil March <br />was taken up and read: <br /> An Ordinance to Amend and Re-ordain an Ordinance Entitled, "An Ordinance <br />Authorizing ~he Use Of Taxicabs in the City .of Portsmouth, Regulating thei~ Use, and Prescribing <br />Rates ~fFare and ImposingPenalties for the Violation ofthis Ordinance," adopted by the Ooun- <br />oil of the City of Portsmouth o$ July 13, <br /> <br /> On motion, the privilege of the fl&Or was granted to Mr. Heller, of the Yellow Oab 0o., <br />who spoke in favor of the ordinance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mayo movsd that the following clause at the end of Section (b) be struck out: '~and <br />the said Chief is hereby empowered to designate from the perso~el of the POlice Department such <br />person~, to.act as Inspectors as may be necessary to car~y ou~ the provisions of this paragraph." <br /> <br />The amendment was adopted. <br /> <br /> Dr. Dumford moved that the words "if demanded" Be struck out of Section (e). The amendment <br />was adopted. <br /> <br />~r.~Stew_art moved that the following sentence be struck out of Sectiom (k): "This ordi- <br />nance may Be pro-rated by quarters, and in pro-ra~ing,.any fraction of a qusmter shallbe re- <br />garded as a full cpAarter." AND SINEING FUND ON THE PUBLIC DEBT, FOR TEE YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY let, 192?. <br /> <br />, Mm.
