<br /> I have examined the list of owners within two hundred feet of the'site on Arling-
<br />ton Street on which Mr. C. J. Sall~ger desires to erect a store. I find the adjoining property
<br />owner and all the owners of the property within a radius of two hundred feet of said site have
<br />consented to the erection of said building~

<br />Authorizing ~he Use Of Taxicabs in the City .of Portsmouth, Regulating thei~ Use, and Prescribing
<br />Rates ~fFare and ImposingPenalties for the Violation ofthis Ordinance," adopted by the Ooun-
<br />oil of the City of Portsmouth o$ July 13,

<br /> On motion, the privilege of the fl&Or was granted to Mr. Heller, of the Yellow Oab 0o.,
<br />who spoke in favor of the ordinance.

<br /> Mr. Mayo movsd that the following clause at the end of Section (b) be struck out: '~and
<br />the said Chief is hereby empowered to designate from the perso~el of the POlice Department such
<br />person~, to.act as Inspectors as may be necessary to car~y ou~ the provisions of this paragraph."

<br />The amendment was adopted.

<br /> Dr. Dumford moved that the words "if demanded" Be struck out of Section (e). The amendment

<br />Mr. Oast moved that the ordiuance be amended by striking out the e~ergency clause.
