April 12, 1927

Several requests ~av.e been made for extension of ~as service into territoryno~ supplied
with gas in the City of Portsmouth at this time that we are hesitating about making, basing
our hesitancy solely upon the fact that, without an additional storage holder, each added con-
sumer on the Gas 0ompany's lines jeopardizes an uninterrupted supply of gas to the present
consumers.

If granted permission to erect a holder, as requested, it will be necessary for us, after
completion, to t~ke care of our frontage on Washington street, and we wilt be more than glad
to put up a wire fence a~d also plant hedging.
We earnestly beseech you to grant us permit for the erection of ~ additional holder
without further delay, so that we may be able to protect the public's gas supply.
Respec~ful±y submitted,

THE PORTSNOUTH GAS 00MPAN¥,

B.
