<br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to
<br />adcpt the following resolution, and was adopted by the following
<br />vote:

<br /> "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY A
<br /> ~L OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE AREA OF THE REGIONAL JAIL SITE
<br />TO DRTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,
<br />Viz inia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized
<br />to Dnvey a parcel of property located in that area to be known
<br />as t~e Regional Jail Site ~o Portsmouth Redevelopment and
<br />Housing Authority (PRHA) with special warranty of title as
<br />hezelnafter described:

<br /> ALL that certain parcel of land with the appurtenances
<br />the ~to belonging, situate, %ying and being in the City of
<br />Poz smouth, Virginia, and being more particularly bounded and
<br />des =ibed as follows, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> BEGINNING at a point on the north side of Elm/%urst Lane at
<br />the dividing line of Lots 38 and 47 as shown on the plat
<br />ent fled "Map of Hyman Ville, Norfolk Co., Va." which plat is
<br />re¢ =ded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City
<br />of ~esapeake, Virginia, ~n Map Book 5, page 63, and from said
<br />poi t of beginning running along the north side of Elml~urst Lane
<br />S. 5° 37' 09" West to the west side of said Lot 47 as shown on
<br />sal plat; thence turning and running in a northerly direction
<br />ale ~ the west side of Lot 47 to the dividing line between said
<br />Lot &7 and said Lot 38 as shown on said plat; thence turning and
<br /> zng in a southeasterly direction along said dividing line of
<br /> 47 and 38 to the point of beginning; the parcel conveyed
<br /> in being that part of said Lot 47 which lies north of
<br /> Lane."

<br />5 - Letter from the Acting City Manager recommending
<br /> of a resolution requesting that the October 10, 1995
<br /> meeting be moved to Octobe~ 9, 1995.
<br />
<br /> "The annual Virginia Municipal League Meeting will be held
<br /> City of Virginia Beach on October 8-10, 1995. In an
<br /> to support VML and allow Council and staff participation
<br />the annual Awards Banquet, I am recommending that we combine
<br /> agendas for October 9 and 10 and conduct our Public Hearing
<br /> regular meeting on Monday, October 9, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. in
<br /> Portsmouth City Council Chamber.
<br />
<br />I have reviewed the proposed schedule for the conference
<br />in my opinion, the proposed Monday meeting will not
<br /> with any sessions or important business meetings.
<br />
<br />In light of the above, I recommend your approval of the
<br /> resolution."

<br />"A SPECIAL RESOLUTION CHANGING THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED CITY
<br /> MEETING OF OCTOBER 10, 1995, TO OCTOBER 9, 1995.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,
<br />that its regularly scheduled Council meeting of
<br />ober 10, 1995, be, and it hereby is, changed to October 9,
<br />
