Ma~ch 13, 19~8 <br /> <br /> The regular repox~so~ the City Treasurer, City Collector, and City Auditor for themonth <br />toof be February, filed. 192~, which had.been approved by'~he-City Man~ger, were presented and were ordered <br /> <br />NEN BUSINESS <br /> <br /> A petition was read from Noah Hoffler and Edward 'Stringer, formerly employed by the City <br />as pavers, that their pensions be increased. <br /> On motion of Mr. White, the Detition was referred to the City Eansger for investigation <br />and report. <br /> <br /> The following communication was read from the Chairmsm of the General Re-union Committee, <br />Stonewall Camp Confederate Veterans: <br /> <br />Mr. Frank C. Hanrahan, <br />City Council, <br />Portsmouth, Va. <br /> <br />City Manager, <br /> <br />"Portsmouth, <br /> <br />Va., March 6th, 1928. <br /> <br />Dear Sirs:-- <br /> <br /> Stonewall Camp Confederate Veterans, tender to you their thanks for the appro- <br />priation voted at your last meeting to advertise the City in our .Official Programme, they would <br />like to have the picture of the Council ai~ty ManaEer and City 01erk in a groupe to be placed <br />in the programme. ' <br /> <br /> We will appreciate it if you will designate some one to write the advertisement <br />telling of the business advantages, beauty and historical points of interest in our City. - <br /> <br /> Kindly have this done as early as practical, as we must get the a~ticles for <br />the p=ogramme in the hands of the Printer as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> With thanks and best wishes I have the honor to be <br /> <br />Your Obedient servant, <br /> <br />aary R. W~rren, Adjutant. <br /> <br /> Ohairman General Reunion Committee., <br /> On motion, the Clerk was instructed to acknowledge and file same. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mayo called attention to the numerous applications for ~e~i~erection of bill boards <br />and requested that the City Manager send copies of said applicati6ns to members of the Council <br />if members so desired~ The City Manager agreed to same.
