<br /> Mr. White moved that Section 8 "Automobile Repair Shop," be amended to read as follows:

<br /> "Each automobile repair mhop, except those paying :a .meroh~nt~,s license tax, $26.00, in
<br />addition to any other license tax." '

<br /> Mr. Mayo moved that the lisense tax ordinance be laid on
<br />of Council February 12th. The motion was adopted.

<br /> Mr. Naupin moved that the privilege of the floor be extended to any one present who may
<br />desire to address the Council on any item of the Budget.
<br />
<br /> Mr. C. W. Johns$on spoke .in favor of the Council inserting in the budget appropriation .
<br />for the Norfolk-Portsmouth Freight Traffic Oommission and the Advertising Board. :
<br />Mr. Hanes~spoke in fav,~ of inserting in the budget appropriation for the Norfolk-Portsmouth
<br />Freight Traffic Commission.
<br />Mr. Maupin moved that there be added to the budget $4529.95 for the Norfolk-Portsmouth
<br />Freight Traffic Commission~
<br />Mr. Brooks moved to amend that there be added to the budget $3020.00 for the Norfolk-
<br />Portsmouth Freight Traffic Commission, with the provision that the County of Norfolk appropriate
<br />$1510.00 for same.
<br />The amendment was lost, and by the following vote:

<br />and report. The motion by Mr. Stewart was adopted.

<br /> Mr. Mayo moved that an aopropriation of $1806.00 be added to the Budget for an additional
<br />policeman. No second. -
