"Attached you wil~ find application from the American Oil Oompany for permission
to erec~ at their plant located at 2500 0ounty St., one 20,000 gallon storage tank. They
now have at this location three storage tanks of the same capacity. This location has been
previously passed on by ~he Oounoil as a suitable place for ail storage and I see nc reason
why permission shouId not be granted. ~

Fire Inspeoto= Shannon and myself have visited the premises. The property of the
Oil Oompany is lm~ediatet~y adjacent to the Belt Line Railroad tracks and it will not be neces-
sary for them to a~qui=e any further property, as the location of the proposed ta~k adjoins
that of the other ~hreetanks~ I therefore recommend that~this permissi~ be granted b~ the
Ooun¢i2, the tank to be e=ected under the supervision of the Fire Inspector and in conformity
with ordin~uce cove~ing e~ectio~ of oil tanks.,

On motion of Mr. Stewart, the communication was laid on the~table un~i~ the next regular
meeting of the Council.

UNFINI~EED BUSINESS
The following ordinance, which had been laid on the table until this meeting, was taken up:

An Ordinance Imposing a License Tax for the Oity of Portsmouth, Virginia, for the Year Be-
ginning May 1st, 1929.
