February 26, t929 On motion of Mr. Mayo, for legal and other opinions. The following report was read from the the Ferries for the month of January, 1929: the communication was referred to the City Attorney and City Manager Superintendent of the Ferries on the operation of "February 26, 1929. Oouncii of the City o~ Portsmouth, and Board of Supervisors of Norfolk Co,muty, Portsmouth, Virginia. York' had a new boilerinstalled by the Newport News. Shipbuilding & !~ry Dock Oompany. The F/S ,Oolumbia' had her annual inspection, with only mino~ repairs ordezed. Fo=fy Se~vic~ Fe=ry se=vice d~ring the month has been satisfactory. Four boats have been ope- rated during the entire day and five boat~ during the rush periods in the morning and evening when necessary. Personnel. There has been no change in the persomuel during the month. I am attaching hereto copy of the audit for the month of January~ 1929,. as sub- mltted by Frederick B.
