The following report was read from the Superintendent of the Ferries on the ooeration of the Ferries for the month of February, 1929: - "Portsmouth, Va., March 22, 1929. 0ouncil o~ the 01ty of Portsmouth, and Board of Supervisors of Norfolk County, Portsmouth, Virginia. Dear Sirs:-- FebrUary, February, Herewith is submitted a report of the operation of the Ferries for the month of 19a9, The following tabulation shows the passenger and vehicular receipts for the month of 1929, also for January, 1929, and February 1928. Work was begun on the re- news,1 of the fence in the middle slip of the Portsmouth Terminal. Flooring has been ordered and the renewal of the floor in the Portsmouth Terminal Waiting Room will begin within the very near future. Ferry Service . Ferry service during the month has been satisfactory. Four boats have been ope- rated during the entire day and five boats during the rush periods in the morning and evening when necessary.
