Dear Sirs:-

I am the owner of lots numbers 188, 189 and 190 on the plat of the South Portsmouth
Land and Improwemen~ 0ompany, located on Marshall Avenue, this Oity. Lots 188 and 189 were
bought by me while I was known as Bessie Brown, and 190 was bought in the nameofBessie Baldwin,
after I was last married. In 1925 a house was erected on 10t-1~, with a small !lot
on part:resting
190. While I own only one house I find that I am assessed with two houses, one. on lets
188 and 189 agains~ Bessie Brown~ smd o~e'cn lot 190 against Bessie Baldwin. I am told that
the Aseessorsfor 1925 assessed ahouse on lEE and 189 ~o~ $1400 and the Oommissloner of the
Revenue, when he received the building permit assessed another house on l~t 190 for $650. The
last assessment of $650 was a mistake and is errene'ous, land I therefore r~quest that yo~ relieve
the taxes charged on the' same as follows: 1926, $16.25, 192~, '$17.55, and 1928, $17.~2, a~d
~29, $17.22. It is my desire to p~y'the' t~Slon the lot ~thout the buildin b~t'I-c~m so until the correction ms made. ! have paid all taxes.charged on the othe~ two lots.

Yours very tr~Xy;

Bessie Baldwin."
