October 9, 5995 <br /> <br />95-461 - Letter f~om the Acting City Manager recommending <br />adoption of a motion to transfer $30,000 from the Grants <br />Contingency Account for the Hazardous Materials Program to <br />purchase necessary equipment for the emergency response team. <br /> <br /> "The Department of Emergency Services Hazardous Materials <br />Grant provides funds to purchase equipment and supplies <br />necessary to handle a Level III Hazardous Material Incident in <br />Southside Ha~npton Roads. Funds in the amount of $30,000 for <br />fiscal year 1995-96 have been received, and Chief Donald <br />Newberry, Jr. has ]ustified its use for materials and Supplies <br />needed by the Southside Regional Hazardous Materials Team. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, recommend approval of a motion to transfer <br />$30,000 from the Grants Contingency Account for the Hazardous <br />Materials Program. There is no local match required." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to <br />transfer $30,000 for the Hazardous Materials Program to <br />purchase necessary equipment for the emergency response team, <br />and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- NEW BUSINESS - <br /> <br />95-462 - Mr. Clemons offered the following nominations for <br />appointments to the following Boards and Commissions: <br /> <br />F~erqency Medical Services Advisory Commission <br /> <br />Stephanie Lloyd to be appointed to fill a three year term <br />ending July 1, 1998. <br /> <br />Social SerVices Advisory Commission <br /> <br />DoD_ny Mason to be appointed to fill an unexpired term ending <br />July 1, 1999, replacing Dorothy Wyron. <br /> <br />Museum & Fine Arts Commission <br /> <br />William Hargroves to be appointed to fill a three year term <br />ending November 1, 1998, replacing Lawrence G. Anderson. <br /> <br />Karl M. Carver to be appointed to fill a three year term ending <br />November 1, 1998, replacing Spurgeon T. Carey, Jr. <br /> <br />P~unela C. Kloeppel to be appointed to fill a three year term <br />ending November 1, 1998, replacing David B. Stuart. <br /> <br />JUdy B. Perry to be reappointed to fill a three year term <br />ending November 1, 1998. <br /> <br />Martha A.
