6th. "Attached you will find an~mendment to sub-section A of Section 309 relative to
service of fire hydrants, which. I have had Oity Attorney Barclay draw.

The purpose of this amendment is to eliminate the necessity of installing an ex-
pensive type of meter for a sprinkler system. I have investigated and found that it ~s common
practice to d~ this in other cities.

I believe this ordinance is to the best interest of the City and that we should
encourage our property owners to install these sprinkler systems because it helps out'fire
record and we should not work any undue hardship on a citizen who is expending h~.s money to
protect his own and adjoining property. Ur. Davis and ~. Barclay have been over this o~di-
nance. M~. Davis recommends its passage and I concur in his recommendation,e
