Maupin, privilege of the floor w~s grouted to a delegation from West Park View. Mrs. Tripiett and Mr. Brewer spoke and asked that curbs and gutters be placed in West Pa~k View. Herbert, Sec., Junior Chamber of Commerce, Norfolk, Va, I note from your letter that you are under the impression t hat the rates on the Portsmouth-Norfolk 0ounty ferries are somewhat higher thsm the rates of simila~ ferries in other sections of the couutry~ We had previously carefully gone into this phase of ferry traffic and records in our office sho~ ths~t from data obtainable on all ferries of approximately the same distance as ours, the rates are from four to one~ hundred ~ud per cent greater and in no instance was the vehioul~r rate less. The avers~e rate was fifty per cent g~eater thsm ours~ The audits of the ferry, like all other matters pertaining to the city operation, are ~f public record and you may~ see them at any time by applying to Mm.
