Mayo the following resolution <br />was placed on its first reading - ~In consideration of being forever relieved of all re- <br />sponsibility and liabili'ty for bridges, roads s~d fills at and across Lake Oahoon, the <br />Portsmouth Oity Gouncil will accept the proposal of the Board of Supervisors of N~usemond <br />Go~uty to pmy the Gounty of Nansemond $Y500.O0 and will construct a new bridge 1~2 feBt <br />long in place of Ha~rsll~s bridge across the North b~anch, and a bridge across the South <br />branch 31l feet long at the new site selected by the Supervisors. The piles, timbers and <br />construction of these bridges to be as set forth in the letter of G. B.
