Gentlemen:

~. i ~es~otful!yrec~st your authority to rearrs~uge the telephone lines
now serving ~ne C±er~,s office - the Court room - and Judge Bain~s office, so that the
maximum service can be obtained from the two lines serving these three places; To do this
will require the installmtion of one additional extension phons and switch boxes on t~e
v~rious phones at a to~al cost of $~;:00 per month which may-be charged to the a re r~a-
t~on made by you for tae Clerk's office; - UP P
At present one line only runs tDzo the Clerk's Office, With an extension
for Judge Bain's office - and the other line runs info-the 0curt room. The effect of this
is that if the phone is being used in the Clerk's office Judge Bain can not' use his'phone,
and vice versa. ~The Cou~t room phone is at present of no use to the Clerk, s office. By
r~arr&ngin~ the phones and install%rig the switches both lines will run th~o the Clerk~s'of-
fzoe2~ wita extensions for Jmdge B~in!s office and the Oou~t Room, ~udthe Olerk's office,
Judge Bain and the Cou~t Room will have the use of two lines at ail times;~ This is very
essential as it is necessary to so place one phone in the Clerk's office that it is a~i!-
~b%e for the use of the public, but important t~t this use and the use of the phone by
uage Bain, should no~ interfere ~uduly with the use of the other phones for the business
of the office as fre~uently does -happen at present~~
The above plan has been discussed with Judge Bain and .has hisa~prova!;,~

Very truly,

-concerning the reconditioning of certain books and records in this office~
Nuoh of the repair work specified has been urgently needed for a number of
years, and many of the books in ~estion are literally falling apart; These records are not
only valuable.historically, but are of. paramount imoortance to t he citizens and prooer~y
owaers of this oity~ - ~

From estimates which I have had made, the work will cost in the neighborhood
of $1500~00, bu~ appreciating present conditions it is my intention to repair only those
books and records which are most in need of repairs during the current year;'
