Lawa~enoe asking a refund of taxes paid in error. <br /> 2 - Petition of Eurril Cook asking a refund of taxes paid in error. <br /> <br /> I find that ~r. Lawrence should have been assessed on his property at-~51~ <br /> Lincoln Street at $1550.0o, as made by the assessors,~but, by error, the Oommissioner of <br /> Revenue copied the book at $~,550.00. Mr. Lawrence should be refunded $26~50, ~nich has <br /> been paid by him for the 1931 taxes. <br /> Nr. Eurril Cook should be relieved of taxes amounting ~o $5.30 for the <br /> year 1931, assessed on building ~1324Prentis Ave. This building was demolished orio~ <br /> to January 1, 1931, smd should not have been assessed.,, <br /> <br /> Eotion oft ir. As it was the intention of the <br />Legislature to give the e~mount of these taxes to the localities, I thLuk that it will be <br />proper for a bilt to he presented at this time providing for the payment to the localities <br />of the m6ney Collected since its last session. <br /> I am enclosing herewith a proposed bili which I think might be used as a <br />gui~e for our representatives in the Legislature.
