On the two days preceding the League Conven- <br />tion,~ the Virginia Police Executi?es Association will-meet and on the day before that the <br />B~tllding Of£ieials'~ Conference of Virginia holds its meeting. At both of these meetings, im- <br />portant problems relating to these branches of the government will be discussed, and it is <br />hoped tha.t the various cities and towns will send their police officials and building inspec- <br />tion officials. The headquarters for the convention will be Hotel Danville. Reservations <br />should be made promptly to Mr. C~B.Strange, Glerk and Auditor of the City cf Danville. <br /> On account of important committee assignments, Mayor Davis of Manassas, President <br />of the League, has requested that I endeavor to sects a l~t cf delegations as soon as pos- <br />sible so that these committees may be made up in advance of the convention. <br /> We have received most cordial and hospitable invitations from the officials at <br />Danville and indications are that we will have one of the largest meetings in our history.The <br />emergencies of the time make it especially-appropriate that our city and town officials take <br />common counsel over theLv problems. We have likewise been fortunate in securing the presence <br />at the meeting of N~. Jay Johns, Chairman, and Colonel Jsmes A. Anderson, Engineer in Charge, <br />Federal Public Works Committee of Virginia, who will be present to discuss any federal public <br />works projects with officials who attend.
