<br /> The following communication from-the City Attorney was read:
<br /> "In reference to the letter of Mrs. Charles A.. Foster referred to me at YOUr
<br />last meeting~ requesting a refund of taxes. I find that N~s. Foster paid by mistake the per-
<br />sonal property taxes of james Marion Broughton for the yea~ 1933 amounting to $3.31 on October
<br />12, 1933. Mrs. Foster asked to pay the taxes ef her father, james Monroe Broughton, who ow~
<br />real estate- on Harrison Street, and the tax ticket of James Marion Broughton was given to her
<br />by mistake. James-Monroe Broughton lives at Oceau View and is not assessed with personal pro-
<br />perty in Portsmouth. I recommend that the' sum of $3.31 be refunded to N~. Foster and that the
<br />City Clerk be instructed to return the tax ticket of N~. B~oughton to the City Collector and
<br />that the same be held as 'a charge in his office.II
