Notion of Mr. Moore that the 0ouncit agree for the Gity Manager not to enforce
said ordinance, was adopted, and by the following vote:

Ayes: Brooks, Fox, Hutch~ns, Eoore, 0asr, Parrish - 6.
Nays: None.

The letter from the Ghairman of Milk and Ice Fund 0ommittee, laid on table at
last meetings was taken up and in this connection, the following letter was read:
"Recently I addressed a communication to the Gouncil as Representative of the
Milk and Ice Fund 0om~ittee of Portsmouth requesting that the West Shows be oermitted to ex-
hibit in this Gity at a reduced license tax, in view of the fact that said s~ows had agreed
that if this were done, they would donate the sum of $200.00 to the Milk 0ommittee for char-
ity. Bnexpected opposition developed from merchants and others when this request was p~e-
sented to the 0ouncil, and in deference to their views, the Oommittee very gladly withdmaws
its request. Yours very truly,

Fanny M. GappS,
Ghairman of Funds,
Milk and Ice 0ommittee."

On motion adjourned.

OITY OLERE.

Approved -

President.
