The Commandant has received tl~ following information with reference to Norfolk City Automobile license plates for 1934: ,Members of the UnifSrmed forces of the United States Government, whe- ther residing on or outside of government property, will not be rec~ired To purchase City license during 1935 for automobiles having a recoon~zed government identification tag. Brooks that the matter be referred to the City Manager and City At- torney to take same up.with the Norfolk authorities to get their ac~ on on same, and to grant same privileges as No~lk does, was adopted, and by the following vote: AyeS: Brooks~ FoX, Hutchins, Mayo, Moore, 0asr, parrish, ~ Nays: None. Motion of Mr. Brooks that the Gounci! recess at this time to hear the representa- tives of the Virginia EleCtric & power Company on the i~ petition to remove tracks on High St. between Mt. Vernon Ave. and City Limits. UPON ~CONVENING~ Motion of Mr. Brooks that the Virginia Electric & Power Company be allowed to re- move their tracks on ~igh-St. betwes~ Mt. Vernon Ave. and the City limits on condition that they pay the City $2,$y5.00 and to furnish such amount of cinders as may be needed to put the unpaved part of the s~reet in g~od condition, was adopted, and by the following vote: Ayes: Brooks, Fox, Hutchins, Mayo, Moore, parrish? 6 Nays: Oast- 1 privilege of the floor was granted the assessors who made a~statement as to their work and asked that they be paid a fair ~ompen~ation, in keeping with other city employees.
