<br />Minutes of regular meeting held Sept. 25th were read and approved.
<br />
<br /> The 0ommittee on Bus terminals reported progress and asked that the time limit
<br />in the Bus ordinance be extended for another fifteen days.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Hutohins to extend the time limit of the Bus ordinance for fifteen
<br />days, was adopted.
<br />
<br /> The 0ommittee on Virginia Electric & Power Gomp~ny Bus and Oar situation of 'the
<br />0ity reported progress.
<br />
<br /> The following communication from the 0ity Manager was read:
<br />
<br />tst- I am attachmng reguest from Mr. Walter E. Munford of 525 Glasgow St.,
<br />~dated October 3rd, for the reward of $50.00 authorized by the Oouncil on March 25th, 1930, to
<br /> 'any person ~ho furnishes information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person giv-
<br /> ing a false alarm of fife'.
<br /> Mr. Munford reported a salter for pulling the alarm box at the intersec-
<br /> tion of Fourth and Harrison Sts., on the morning of September 23rd. As resolt of Mr. Munfordts
<br /> testimony in 0curt, the sailor was convicted and fined $50.00 and cost for turning in a false
<br /> alarm.
<br /> In view of this, I assume you will wish to authorize payment of $50.00 to
<br /> Mr. Munford as a reward, in accordance with resolution adopted Naroh 25th, 1930."

<br /> Motion of Mr. Hutchins to concur in the Manager's report~and to appropriate
<br /> $50.00 for same, was adopted.
<br />
<br /> The following communication from the 0ity Attorney was re~d:
<br />
<br /> "At the meeting held on September ll, 1934, you referred to me a letter of X.O.
<br /> Howell, Assistant Seeretar~ of the 0ity Realty 0orporation, reGUesting a refund of the taxes
<br /> paid on one-half of a lot on High St. Uoon investigating, I find that the 0ity Real~ 0orpo-
<br /> ration was assessed for the years 1931, ~932 and 1933 on property 2215,2~16 and 2218 High St.,
<br /> one half a lot more than the Oorporation o~ned. Mr. Byrd who owns a lot and one-half, number
<br /> 2204 High St., was assessed with one lot only. Mr. Byrd has paid to the Oity Realty 0orpora-
<br /> tion the amount of taxesfor the years 1931 and 1932, and has paid the Oity 0ollector the
<br /> amount of taxes owing on the half lot for the year 1933. The 0ommissioner of the Revenue has
<br /> corrected this error :for the year 1~34. This disposes of the entire matter and there is no
<br /> action to be taken by the ~i~y Oou~ci!."
