<br />H.F~ parrish, J.R~ Stewart, City Manager.
<br />
<br />Minutes of regular meeting held Sept. 25th were read and approved.
<br />
<br /> The Oommittee on Bus terminals reported progress and asked that the time limit
<br />in the Bus ordinance be extended for another fifteen days.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Hmtchins to extend t?~ time limit of the Bus ordinance for fifteen
<br />days, was adopted.
<br />
<br /> The Oommittee on Virginia Electric & Power Company Bus and Car situation of the
<br />City reported progress.
<br />
<br />The following communication f rom the City ~nager was read:

<br />1st - ri am attaching ~eguest from Mr. Walter E. Munford of 525 Glasgow Bt.,
<br />~dated October 3rd, for the reward om $50.00 authorized by the Council on March 25th, 1930, to
<br /> ~any person mho furnishes information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person giv-
<br /> ing a false alarm of
<br /> Nrc Munford reported a sail~ fo~ pulling the alarm box at the intersec-
<br /> tion of Fourth and Har=ison Sts., on the morming of Septembe= 23rd. As =eso~t of Mr. M unford~s
<br /> testimony in Court, the sailor was convicted and fined $50.00 and cost £or turning in a false
<br />
<br /> In view of this, I assume you will wish to authorize oayme~ of $50.00 to
<br /> Mr~ Munford as a reward, in accordance with resolution adopted March 25th~ 1930."

<br /> ~otion of Mr. Hutchins to concur in the Manager's report~and to appropriate
<br />$50.00 for same, was adopted.
<br />
<br />The following communication from the City Attorney was read:
<br />
<br /> ~At the meeting held on ~eptember ll, 193~, you referred to me a letter of K.O.
<br />Howell, Assistant Secretar~ of the City Realty Corporation, re~esting a refund of the taxes
<br />paid on one-half of a lot on High St. Upon investigating, I find that the City Real~ Corpo-
<br />ration was assessed for the years 1931, 1932 ~nd 1933 on property 221~,2~16 and 2218 High
<br />one half ~ lot more than the Oorporation owed. Mr. Byrd who owns a lot and one-h~If, number
<br />2204High St., was assessed with one lot only. Mr. Byrd has paid to the Oity Realty Corpora--
<br />tion the amount of taxesfo~ the years 1931 ~ud 1932, and has paid the City Collector the
<br />amount of taxes owing on the half lot for the yea~ 1933. The Oommissioner of the Revenue has
<br />oo~rected this error for the year 1934. This disposes of the entire matter ~nd there is no
<br />action to be taken by the City Couuci!~"
