"Fort Nelson Ohapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Norfolk
0hapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, and the local Chapter o~ the 0hildren of the
Revolution are now having painted in oil on canvass the true Great ~eal of Virginia. These
org~uizations desire to present this to the Oity of Portsmouth to commemorate the services of
the late Lloyd E. Warren, who, while serving as State Senator ~or the Oity of Portsmouth, se-
cured the passage by the General Asse~oly of Virginia of the act which orovided once and for
~lI the true seal of the 0ommonwealth.
It is the desire of these patriotic organizations that this painting be hung in
the Oouncil Ohamber and that the same be presented to the Oity at its re~ular Oouncil meeting
to be held on t he second Tuesday in March, 1935. O~ co~mrsel the presentalon will ~e aooom -
We, therefore, respeotfully request that the Oouncil of the 0ity of Portsmouth
