<br />"WHEP~AS, the total cost of the contemplated pav~ng ef High St. from
<br />Craw£ord St.'to 0hestnut St. is estimated~o Se $50,8~0,00, and
<br /> WHEREA~, the Federal '??ve~nment, th=u the Virginia State Highway
<br />Department, will contrzoute $30,000.00 Under Project NRM 1036 C,
<br />leaving ab~lance of $20,890.00 to be borne by the City, and
<br /> WHEREA~, the bids~received by the City and State on March 21st, must
<br />be accepted on or before Aoril 19th,
<br /> NOW, ~HEP~FORE, Be it resolved that the PortSmouth City Council, in
<br />special meeting assembled, on Aoril 15th, here~y authorizes the Oity
<br />Manager to accept bids and cons~ate contracts for the paving of
<br />High St=eet, up to an amoumt not exceeding $20,890.00."
