Parrish, one of <br /> <br />Approved - <br /> <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br />President. <br /> <br />October 15th; 1935. <br /> <br /> AU a regular meeting of the City Council, held October 15th, 1935 at <br />8:00 P.M., there were present: <br /> <br />Vernon A. Brooks, Leslie T. Fox, W.R. Hutchins, S. B. Eoore, J. Alden <br />Oast, J.R. Stewart, the City Manager. <br /> <br />read and approved. <br /> <br />Minutes of regular meetings held September lOth and September 2~th were <br />The following com~unications from the City Manager were read: <br /> <br /> 1st - The City Manager stated the F.E.R.A. had refused to help tran- <br />sients and there were two families stranded here without-funds to return to their homes, <br />and there was likely to be more and he asked for an appropriation of $150;O0'for'said pur- <br />pose. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Hutchins, $150.OO was appropriated, snd by the fol - <br /> <br />lowing vote: <br /> <br />Ayes - Brooks, Fox, Hutchins, Moore, Cast, Stewart '6. <br />Nays - None. <br /> <br />complete a <br /> <br />of the work <br />conditions <br /> <br />list, 2000 ft. of 8" <br />$500.00. <br /> <br /> 2nd - "I am advised by the City Engineer that $500.00 is necessary to <br />sewer proJect~ embracing ~he following s~reets: <br /> King Bt. - Chestnut to Elm Ave. <br /> Columbia St.~- " " " " <br /> Pine St. - South to King St. <br /> Parker St. - B~ce ~o South St. <br /> Richmond Ave. - Race ~o South St. <br /> " - South ~o Clifford St. <br /> Clifford St. - Godwin to L~nsing Ave. <br /> Griffin St. - Richmond to L~slng Ave. <br /> Lansing Ave. South ~o Clifford St. <br /> Elm Ave. - County to South St. <br /> That material was on hand for the work, but during the progress <br /> , it became necessary to sewer the following streets, in order to remedy bad <br />snd to connect new buildings. <br /> Argyle St. - Effingham to Green St. <br /> Green St. - Brighton to Randolph St. <br /> 7th Ave. - Charles ~o South of Elizabeth St. <br /> Scott St. - Washington to Dinwiddie St. <br /> Elizabeth St.- 6th Ave. to 7th Ave. <br /> Now in order to complete the streets included in the original <br /> pipe and 60,804 Y s and some sand and cement are needed, which will cost <br /> <br />available promptly, <br /> <br /> I therefore recommend that $500.00 be appropriated snd made <br />in order that this work may proceed without delay.~ <br /> <br />by the <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Stewart, $500°00 was appropriated for said purpose, <br />following vote: <br /> Ayes Brooks, Fox~ Hutchins, Moore, Oast, Stewart - 6. <br /> Nays - None. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> 3rd - "We h~ve a surplus of W.P.Ao labor appropriation for a sewer nrc- <br />Jeer and i~ is believed that a part of the Gpprooriation may be transferred into an apprOpri- <br />ation for material, upon the condition that the ~ity will provide 32% of the cost of the ma- <br />terial. <br /> <br /> <br />
