<br /> As I am charged with the amounts originally placed by the Board of Appraisers
<br />and several of the taxpayers have not the exemption form which the law provides shall enti-
<br />tle them to a reduction, I request that the City Auditor be given authority to relieve the
<br />amounts shown, on list which was made by the Commissioner of Revenue~ so that the ~axpayers
<br />can pay the correct amount of tax.~
<br /> Motion of Mr. Hutchins ~o concur in the request, provided the relief is ap -
<br />proved by the 0ommissioner of Revenue and City Attorney~ was adopted.

<br />value of theland was left at $10,000.00, and it appearing to the Court tha~ Paul G. Blanford
<br />the party aggrieved by the said assessment as increased by the Board of Equalization has given
<br />notice in writing as prescribed by law to the City Attorney for the City of Portsmouth, Vir-
<br />ginia that the assessment is above the true value thereof, and thereupon the said Paul G. Blan-
<br />ford moved the Court to correct the assessment on the buildin~ on his land which motion was
<br />defended by R.C. Barclay, City Attorney for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and the asses-
<br />sors and the members of the Board of Equalization were examined as witnesses touching the ap-
<br />plicant or the facts proved, all of which the Court' certifies as fac~s upon the application
