Revenue has been computed on ~he presen~ tax ra~e of $2.65 per hundred,
on all real estate and personal property; ~the exis$ing license tax schedule; one dollar per
hundred on m~chinery and actual estimated items of other income.
The proposed tax of $1.00, in lieu of twenty cents, whichl shall recom-
mend at.the proper time, wil~ produce SB, O00.O0 of revemue w~nich is reflected in the estimated
1936 revenue.
Net Revenue, as estimated for 1936, is $5,627.29 less than ~he estimated
net revenue for 1935.
The reduc$ion ef $16,876,33 of the 1936 Budget under the 1935, is largely
due ~o the expenditure for the real estate assessment, which occurred in the former year and
also the special appropriation made in 1935 for land for a Municipal Stadium.
In 193~, the City received $139,000.00 from the ferries and for the first
nine months of ~his year $91,208.8~. Npon this basis, with allowance for heavier traffic, in
December, it is estimated that ~he 1935 receipts will approximate $~25,000,00, which figure is
used in the 1936 estimate of revenue. This is ass~mlng that the 1936 receipts w~ll equal those
of 1935-
