Hanvey, ~.R. Hutchins, S.B. Noore, <br /> J. Alden Oust, J. Bo Stewart. <br /> <br />ordered filed. <br /> <br />Vice President J. R. Stewart in Chair. <br /> <br />Oath of office of J. T. Fund, $8,000.00, and from the Cemetery ~und,$1,4~9.00, <br />the actual cost ~o the City of the Cemetery work. These drains will not only effect marked <br />improvements in the Cemetery ~ud viclni~y, but will add a number of lots to Oak Grove Cemetery. <br /> I feel that ~he City is fortunate in securing these projects, inasmuch <br />as the i~rovements will be of a worthwhile,per-manent nature~ and will giv~ work to a n~mnber of <br />~employeR, through several months~~ <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Fox to lay on table until next meeting, was adopted.- <br /> <br /> 3rd - The following ordinance was presented~ by the City Manager: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BORRO'~ING OF TWO ~JNDRED THOUSAND <br />($200,~00.00) 'DOT~I~RS IN ANTIOIPATION OF THE COLLECTION OF THE REVENUE <br /> 193o, ~ND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A NOTE OR NOTES THEREFOR." <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Fox to place on first reading, was adopted. <br /> <br />The following communications from the City Attorney were read: <br /> <br /> let "You re0ently directed me to condemn the property of J.g. Weiner at <br />the corner of 2nd ~ve. and London St. and the property of the heirs of J.L. Bunting and <br />Ward, fronting on Glasgow St. Before I c~u proceed with this condemnation, an effor~ must be <br />made to agree with the owners for the purchase of the land. An effort has been made through <br />Mr. A.J. Phillips, Jr., but for fe~a3'~ there may be some question about the City Council acting <br />definitely in this matter I request that I be authorized to offer Mr. Weiner,~ the sum of <br />$~2~.50 for his property, and the heirs of J.L. Bunting and A.C. Ward the sum of $50.00. In <br />the case that these offers are no~ accepted, then I request the resolution to show that I <br />directed ~o condemn the property," <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Fox to concur in the City Attorney's recommendation, end in <br />event offers are refused,~ that the City Attorney be authorized to condemn~operty,,was adopted. <br /> <br /> 2nd - '~In referenc~/~o the cour~ order entered on the 19th day of October, <br />1935, relieving Paul G. Bl~uford ~Om certain tax a~sessmen~s onthe property 920-22 High St., <br />this was a nuno'pro tune order a3~d th~ property should be relieved of $19.8~ for each of the <br />years 1931-1932-1933-!934, t~e~her wmth the interest and penalties thereon. <br /> After the hearing in cour~ the remaining ~mount of the taxes were paid." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Fox that Mr. Blanford be relieved of $19.8~ for each of the <br />years 1931 through 1935, covering certain tax assessments on property 920-22 High St., was <br />adopted. <br /> - UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br /> The following ordinance, placed on its first reading at last meeting, was <br />taken up and read: <br /> <br />,AN ORDIN~uqCE TO A~DAND RE-ORDAIN AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED, 'AN <br />OP~IN~CE PROVIDING FOR PERPETUAL CA~RE AND UPKEEP OF CEMETERY <br />LOTS', adopted June 16th, 1922.': <br /> <br />On motion of Er. Brooks, ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
