295 <br /> <br />The following communlcatlo~from the City Attorney wererea~: <br /> <br /> ist ~In reference to the following ma~ters for the rellef of taxes re- <br />cently referred to me, I beg.to report as follows: <br /> 1st Nfs. ~rgaret Ac Bulloch is entitled to a refund of ~7.95 <br />paid for 19M~ taxes on a building assessed for $300°00, 2202 Chestnut St. This building was <br />w~ecked in'~32 and omitted from the 1933 ~d 193h land books. The assessors placed it on <br />the re-assessmenT book and i~ wen~ on ~he 1935 book by mistake. <br /> 2nd - ~rs. Eargaret A. Bulloch is entitled to a refund of $7.20 <br />on 1935 ~axes paid by her on two parcels of lar~d on d-l~sgow 8t~, conveyed to the ~ity of Port~- <br />mouth by deed dated Narch 21, 1925, for the Migh School playground. <br /> 3rd- The First Friends' Church is entitled to a~relief of <br />together with interest and penalties thereon on the 1935 taxes charged on. the proper~y <br />~ythe Bt., assessed to C.W. Alexander. The church trustees purchased the property on ~arch 21, <br />1935, for a parsonage and ~ve received no rent from ~he s~me. They paid the taxes to ~arch <br />~I. hth - The Forrest Park Land Company, Inc., i~ entitled to a relief <br />of '.g13.25 together with interest and penalties for 1935 taxes assessed on the bultdin~ 515-17 <br />Godwin Street for $500.00. The building was torn down ~n 1932 and wac removed from the land <br />book in 1933. The assessors by error placed it on the~re~assess~ent bcok~ <br /> 5th ~ Er. H.N. Kunkle is en~ftled to a r~ltef of $3.97 for each of <br />the years 193~ end 1935 for taxes assessed on the building 53© Mdwa~ds ~t., f~r $1~0.00~ The <br />building was wrecked ~n 1933 and when he attempted to have it removed from the 193~l~u~ book <br />he was info~med that it wo~d be necessar~ for him to obtain a permit from the Building Inspec- <br />tor. Me, therefore, dotAined his pe~mlt on AugMst 6, 193~. ~ <br /> Eotion of Nr. Oast to concur in the'Attorney's recommendation, was adopted.. <br /> <br /> 2nd - "Sometlme ago, I was directed to sell the property 308 North St., as- <br />sassed To ~.D. Eastwood~s estate~ to satisfy the delinquent taxes thereon. The property,was <br />sold at public auction for $1600.00 and after the court cost, and delinquent taxes(Statej were <br />paid in full, the sum of $13~4.09 was ~aid to the City Collector on the city taxes and the <br />court order the lien of all taxes against the proper~y relieved. The City Collector apolied <br />~he money for paying the taxes with interest and penalties for the year 192~ through 19~9, in- <br />clusive, ~ud the balance on the 193© taxes. In order to comply with the Court order and to <br />permit the purchaser to pay his taxes in the future, the..following should be relieved from the <br /> <br />property: <br /> <br />together with <br /> <br />interest <br /> <br />1931 <br />1932 1~.55 <br />1933 125.55 <br />!93~ I~.55 <br />1935 12h. 55 <br />and penalties.~ <br /> <br />Eotion of Nr.
