<br /> ~V~EREAS, the accounts and records o~ the office of A.E.
<br />~arker, City ~ollector, were audited by Monroe Nash, Certi-
<br />fied Public Accountant, as of December 31st, 1935, and ac -
<br />cording to the repor~ .of said Accountant, were found correct
<br />as sho~ by the books of the City; and
<br /> WHEREAS, ~t appears that i~ is the ~uty of the City Coun-
<br />dil to have examined yearly the list of uncollected taxes and
<br />~o credit the Collector such ~axes, as in their opinion, could
<br />not have been collected with due diligence;
<br /> ,WHEREAS, it appears that A.E. Parker, City Collector~
<br />should be credited with all taxes levied in 1935,- remaining
<br />uncollected on ~he 31st day of December, 1935, the amount of
<br />which ie ~hown in said report of Monroe Nash.
<br /> NOW, THEREPORE, Be i~ resolved by the Council of the City
<br />of Portsmouth, that A.E. Parker, City Collector, be credited
<br />with all uncollected taxes levied in 1935, remaining in his
<br />office ~on December 31et, 1935, and that he be relieved of re-
<br />sponsibility for ~ot having collected ~he same, but nothing
<br />herein contained shall be construed as relieving the payment
<br />of said taxes by the persons owning the same, or in relieving
<br />A.E. Parker, City Coll'ector, from his responsibility for any
<br />sums so collected.~

<br /> "I wish_to register with you a claim of $56.00 rebate~on License purchased for
<br />the years of 1935 and 1935 that was paid through a mistake of the City Collector by not classi-
<br />fying my business properly.
<br /> I have been charged as a merchant whereas I should be charged as a manufactur-
<br />er of ice cream, with capacity of less than 1000 gallons, which would amoun~ to $51.00 per year
<br />instead of $79.oo as-a merchant. Therefore, making a balance due me of $56.00.
