<br /> The following letter from the City Manager, laid on table until this meeting,

<br /> "A project has been approved by the Works Progress Administration, for culverts
<br />and pipe line drains in various sections of .the City, aggregattng~an expenditure Of $51,301.50
<br />of Federal Funds, amd $?,%91.00 of City funds.
<br /> It is estimated that~there will be a balance of A.B.C. funds of approximately
<br />$3,991,00, after the sum necessary for the Social Service Bureau is provided.
<br /> If this balance is used for the project above referred to, there will still
<br />remain an~a~iition~l $3,500.OO to be provided.
<br /> Therefore, I recommend an appropriation~ at this time, of'$3,500.00 from the
<br />money received from the Virginia Electric & Power Company, and that $3,991~OO of A.BJC. funds
<br />be appropriated when the money is received, after July 1st, in order that work on this project
<br />may proceed.#
