Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />*P. Ward Robinett, Jr.,. J. Thomas Benn Ill, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. <br />Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Daniel M. Stuck, City Attorney Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />02 - 33 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 80'1 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br />February 12, 2002 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />02 - 34 - The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. FY 2003 Budget Outlook Update - Joint Meeting with the School Board <br /> <br />School Board members present: <br /> <br />Ray A. Smith, Sr., Chairman <br />Byron T. Kloeppel, Vice Chairman <br />Herbert Mort, Sr. <br />Caroline M. Barnes <br />B. Keith Nance, Sr. <br />Dr. David I. Joyner <br />Betty N. Hudgins <br />Dr. Wilbert D. Hawkins, Superintendent of Schools <br /> <br />01 - 35 -Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711(A)(1) of the Code of Virginia, to <br />discuss or consider the following: <br /> <br /> appointments by Council to boards and commissions. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section <br />2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> 2.
