chins, F.D. Lawrence, C. E. Warren, H. Earl Weiseman, Pearls J. Wilson,

1st - %~%e Manager presented the following ordinance:

"AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING PERSONS WHO BUY SECOND-HAND
BUILDING MATERIAL EXCEPT FROM A LICENSED DEA~R, TO KEEP A
DAILY RECORD THEREOF AND FURNISH THE SAME TO THE CHIEF OF
POLICEu

Motion of Mr. Fox ~o place same on its first reading, was adopted.

2nde- The Manager presented the following ordinance:

"AN ORDINANCE MJ~KING IT UNLAWFUL TO ENTER UPON ANY VA-
CANT BUILDINGS OR THEIR ENCLOSURES, WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF
THE O~NERS"

Motion of Mr. Howard to place said ordinance on its first reading, was adopted.

3rd - "The ordinance passed many years ago, segregating funds from the Olive
Branch Cemetery, has cost the City, up to this time, between ten and eDeven thousand dollars,
the difference between ~he interest allowed by the banks ~ud the interest the City paid the
banks when it borrowed the same money.
The amount of the fund now is in exc'ess of $60,000. and the City is
paying the banks 2~% for taking care of this money.
I recommend tha~ the ordinance relative to this fund, passed by the
City Council on October 10th, t922, be annulled, so that the $60,000. may be applied to the
Floating Debt, which will cut ~his debt down from ~$~10,000. to $350,000. If the arran'ge~ent
now existing should continue ten years longer at $1,500. a year, it would cost the City an
additional $15, O00."
