<br />City funds. I, therefore, recommend the appropriation of

<br />96-95 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
<br />an ordinance to appropriate $25,000 from the Capital
<br />Improvements Fund to purchase auxiliary emergency generators
<br />for. two fire stations, and a motion to award the contract to
<br />Western Branch Diesel.
<br />
<br /> a. Ordinance to appropriate $25,000 from the Capital
<br />Improvements Fund toward the purchase of two auxiliary
<br />emergency generators.
<br />
<br /> b. Motion to award the contract to Western Branch
<br />Diesel.
<br />
<br /> "The 1994-95 Capital Improvement Program authorized
<br />$25,000 for the purchase of a new auxiliary emergency
<br />generator.
<br />
<br /> Based on very favorable bids, the City is now in the
<br />position to purchase two emergency generators for a total of
<br />$31,000. There is presently $6,000 remaining from prior
<br />appropriations to fund the additional cost. The two
<br />generators would be utilized at the old Churchland Fire
<br />Station and the Cradock Fire Station.
<br />
<br /> The Fire Chief recommends appropriation of the $25,000
<br />and purchase of the two emergency generators. I concur with
<br />the Fire Chief, and with your approval of this item, the
<br />remaining balance of bonds authorized, but not yet
<br />appropriated, will be $2,796,410."

<br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to adopt
<br />the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following
<br />vote:
