March 9th, 1937. FURNISH THE S~E TO THE CHIEF OF POLICE. On mo$ion of Mr. Hutchins, said ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote: Ayes: Leigh, Fox, Grimes, Howard, Hutchi~s, Lawrence, Warren, Weiseman, Wilson Nays: None The report of the City Collector for the month of February, was received and ordered filed. The report of the Accounting Department, for February, was received and or - dere& filed. - NEW BUSINESS The following letter was read~ ~I am a substitute in the Portsmouth, Va., Fire Department. On the morning of the twenty fourth of December, 1936, while wa~k~ug at a fire at #710-ylO~2 High St., this City, I had a fracture of my right hand, necessitating an exray picture being taken of same. I was sent to Dr. Foy Van, a specialist, by Drs. L.J. Roper andV.J. Meads, and have been under the care of the City Physician, until March l, 193~. I have been unable to work by reason of this disability, caused in line of duty, and I am asking you gentlemen compensation to take care of this situation. Yours vel-y ~ruly~ W.G. Hartung, 521 Sou~h S~., CiZy." Motion of Mr. Fox to refer to the City Manager, for adjustment, was adopted. The oompensation repor~ for February, of the Treausrer, Commissioner of Reve- nue, 0ommonwealth Attorney, was received, and on motion of Mr. Hutchlns, approved ~or payment. The 0ormmittee on buses stated that unless complaints were in by ~rch 15th, they would not be considered. On motion of Mr. Fox, ~he 0ity Manager was requested Zo confer with the Sink- ing Fund Commission, in reference to the purchase of bonds by the Sinking Fund Commission. On motion adjourned.
