_ADr_~I 27th~ lq~7. <br /> <br />resolutions passed at The last meeting of the League, it was requested that the preliminary <br />report be submitted and that answers be obtained to the various'questions asked therein in <br />order to be helpful to the Committee in deciding on its final legislative program to be sub- <br />mitted to-the League. Conventlon at Virginia Beach on~ September 20th and 21st. I trust you <br />will bring this matter to the attention of the Council at its very next meeting and advise <br />us in accordance with the request As set forth in the bulletin as to the answers to the ques- <br />tions asked° The Committee desires that answers to these questions be returned by A~ril 15th <br />so that it can reassemble, canvass the answers, and make its final report. <br /> The prompt cooperation of all councils of our member cities and towns will <br />certainly be mos~ helpful. Replies may be addressed ~o'this office. <br /> <br />Very truly yours, <br /> <br />M.L. Wallerstein, <br />Executive Secretary, <br />League Virginia Munlclpalities." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hutchins to defer action until next meeting, and that copies be <br />sent each member, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Report of Frederick B. Hill & Oompany, on auditing the books and accounts of <br />the Norfolk County Ferries, for the month of February~ was received and ordered filed. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Fox that the Virginia Electric & Power Company be requested to <br />put into 'opera~lo~ SecTions I ~ 2 - 3 of the report of the Bus Complaint Committee, and ap- <br />proved by the Oouncil March 23rd and April 13th, and agreed To by them, for a period of thir- <br />ty days, ahd if satisfactory, be made permanent, and to advertise the same, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Weiseman ttlat the pension of E.O. Parker be made $~O.00 per <br />month, beginning April 16th, 1937, was adopted. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr Wetseman to place on its first reading, the following ordinance: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE ~0 A~END AND RE-ORDAIN SECTION SEVENTY FOUR <br /> OF THE LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE, ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> APRIL 13, 1937." .... <br /> <br />was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Leigh, Fox, Grimes, Howard, <br />Weiseman, Wilson 9 <br />None <br /> <br />Hutchins, <br /> <br />Warren, <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk. <br /> <br />President. <br /> <br /> <br />
