<br />Minutes of regular meeting held October 26th were read and approved.

<br />The following communications from the City Manager were read:

<br /> let - ~There has been allotted to Portsmouth, $4,600.00 for maintenance of
<br />State Hi,ways through Zhe City, for 1937 and 193~.
<br /> It will be necessary a~ this time for the. C auncil, to appropriate
<br />this amount which will be paid to us by the State in quarterly instalments. By doing this,
<br />we can get the labor free, which will be a great help ~o us.~
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mro Hutchins To place the requested ~opropriation of $4,600.00 on
<br />its first readin~was adopted.
<br />
<br /> 2nd - ~I have begun work on the budget for the next year~ and in making up
<br />this budget, one of the most serious problems confronting us is to correctly estiiate the
<br />amount of revenue we may e~oect from the Ferries.
