<br />The following resolution was read:

<br /> "The Council of the 0ity of Portsmouth records its sincere sympathy to
<br />its co-worker, Pearle ~. Wilson, in the .death of his mother, Mrs. Syrena C.
<br />Wilson.
<br /> Mrs. Wilson was a devout and active member of her church and her
<br />Christi~u spirit was felt throughout the entire community and was an inspira-
<br />tion to all who knew her.
<br /> The passing Of Mrs. Syrena C. Wilson has removed from our midst a
<br />woman endeared by all with whom she came in contact and our sy~oathy goes out
<br />to the members of her family°
<br /> Therefore, Be it Resolved, That ~these resolutions be spread umon the
<br />~ecords of the ~Council of the ~Ci~y of Portsmouth and a ~opy sent to the mom -
<br />hers of her family as an expression of our heartfelt sympathy in their be -

<br /> Mr. Barclay, City Attorney, and I have viewed the premises together
<br />and I am convinced that his recommendation, which is hereto attached, is fair, both to the
<br />City and the owner."

<br />On motion of Mr. Fox, the Attorney"s recommendation was concurred in.

<br /> 3rd - "At ten o'o!ock, today, we opened bids on the proposed electric plant
<br />on Godwin St~We had five bids from respqnsible firms and as soon as these bids have been tabu-
<br />lated and co~ordinated, the contract will be let, and the pumping station will be transformed
<br />into an electric plant.
