She lost eve~hing in the fire and over $700. dol- <br />lars Lu bills that she could not collect after the fire. <br /> Therefore I ask, knowing the facts, that you kindly see to it that this matter <br />be attended to, so the tax collector's books may be corrected, as per the facts as they have <br />been since 1931. <br /> . Hutchins, <br /> Commissioner of the Revenue." <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Hutchins, the recommendation of the Co~missioner was approved <br />The following petition was read: <br /> <br /> "The 'ondersig~ed, shoe repairers ~s£ng electric~ finishing machines, respect- <br />fully ask that your honorable body reduce their license tax from $16.00 to a smaller amount. <br /> Several years ago,. all sho~ repairers were payLug $26.00 license; but the <br />Council appreciating the difference between repairers who only u~ed electric finishers and <br />those who used electric stitchers alsO, reduced our taxes to $16.00, while those using the <br />stitchers remained at $~6.00.
