<br /> . "In the assessmen~ for. 0ity taxes~ with specific reference to a lot situated
<br />on the northwes~ corner of what is apparently FirstAve. a~dColumbia St.,~and directly adjoin-
<br />ing the lot uoon which 107 First Ave. is located, it $2ems that the owner of the lot in ques -
<br />tion on the s~id~corner has been assessed for a buil~L~g Standing on th~s said corner lot.
<br /> ~The owner of this lot is Hiawatha Young, as the records will reveal, and I
<br />am his mother, of the above address.
<br /> For some years in the past, a building did occupy the corner lot in question.
<br />But in~ 1934 this old building was torn down. It is obvious ~hat the City has had no know
<br />ledge of the razing of this structure, smd owLug partly to the fact that we failed to give no~
<br />rice of this razing due to oversight on our Dart. Therefore, the said Hiawatha Young has been
<br />and apparently is, assessed for a building that no longer stands upon the piece of ground in
<br />question, and which has not stood ~here since September, 193~. Th~ lot is No. 14 on the Plan
<br />of Goshen, N.W. corner First Ave. and Columbia St. as stated.
<br /> I have therefore been instructed to communicate with the City Council smd re-
<br />quest that the said Hiawatha Young be relieved from havLug to pay taxes on a non-existent
<br />structure that was razed in September, 193~. Thanking you for your kind consideration in
<br />matter, and wishing to assure you that ~here is now no structure on Said lot smd has not been
<br />in nearly four years, I

<br /> "Assessed in the name of Hattie A. Irving, at #306-08 Glasgow St., is $200.00
<br />on a building, which was removed in ~ay, 1932, and a permit for such removal was issued by
<br />the BuildiD~ Inspector,s office at that ~ime.
<br /> In view of the~ fact that the building does net exist, I wi&l ~opreciate if
<br />you will have the proper officers relieve me of taxes on this building for the years 1933,
<br />1934~ 1935, 1936 at $2.65 per $i00.00 and for the years 1937 an~ 193~ at $2.50 per $100.00.
